CURTAIN’S UP FOR A CURE was the idea of Jacey, a teenager from Michigan with Juvenile Huntington’s disease. Jacey’s dream & last wish was “to see the lights of Broadway” & have a Broadway celebrity event to create awareness & raise funds to find a cure for this fatal disease. The HDSA New York Chapter granted Jacey’s wish & in 2007, she inaugurated & attended the first event, but did not live to see another. CURTAIN’S UP FOR A CURE continues to honor Jacey & her dream by bringing together the best of Broadway & New York’s top cabaret performers in this annual event. As in past years, HDSA NYC expresses its gratitude to the Broadway community for the kindness & generosity of those who sponsor & put together this grand benefit show.
